Human rights policy

Objective

SQM is committed to respecting and promoting human rights in accordance with current national and international standards. In order to consolidate this commitment from the highest corporate level and throughout our entire operational chain, we publish our Human Rights Policy, based on the framework of "protection, respect and remedy" of the Guiding Principles on Companies and Human Rights of the United Nations, and inspired by the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, Convention 169 on Indigenous and Tribal Peoples of the International Labor Organization, the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, and the International Covenant on Economic and Social Rights and Cultural Affairs of the United Nations.

This Human Rights Policy has been defined as a series of principles to which SQM and its affiliates and subsidiaries adhere, in order to generate an institutional culture of protection and promotion of the fundamental rights of people who work and are related to the Company or living in your environment. SQM also expects its suppliers, contractors, consultants, business partners and other third parties associated with SQM to uphold and adhere to these principles, and urges them to adopt similar policies within their own businesses. This policy complements and highlights issues already contained in other SQM policies, codes and procedures, such as its: Sustainable Development Policy, Inclusion and Diversity Policy, Code of Ethics, Anti-bribery and Anti-corruption Policy.

Scope

This Policy and the commitments that emanate from it, are intended for all areas of our influence, starting with the SQM board of directors, our own workers, our shareholders, our chain of suppliers and supplies, as well as the communities and territories where they are located. our operations.

Human Rights Policy

As a global company that produces essential supplies for key industries in human development, such as health, food, clean energy and technology, among others, SQM guides its actions under the principles of excellence, safety, integrity and sustainability, embodied in our Code of Ethics, and applicable to all of us who are part of SQM. This Code compels us to observe strict rules for the good performance of corporate governance and a robust risk management system, fully complying with current legislation and regulations, and observing commitments and high national and international standards voluntarily acquired.

In search of complementing our ethical commitments with the duties of due diligence in human rights and reinforcing our commitment to the sustainable development objectives of the United Nations Global Compact, and fundamental labor rights, we acquired the following commitments:
